Chocolate Peanut Butter Pretzels
Halloween is over and there is SO MUCH CANDY! What to do with it all???? Whip up these decadent chocolate peanut butter pretzels! Serve them as part of your Thanksgiving feast! Hubby is a huge peanut butter fan, so these are heavy on it. If you want less, top them with something different or don't top them at all. But either way, enjoy!
You Will Need:
* Milk Chocolate, I used Halloween candy
* Peanut butter cups for the topping
* Peanut butter, I used a natural one for less sugar (figured there was enough, ha!)
* Wax paper
* Cookie sheet, bowl, microwave, fridge
* Old fashioned pretzels
Step One:
Melt the chocolate needed, and coat the back of each pretzel, place them on the wax paper and then fill in the pretzel holes (not all the way up, just enough to turn them into little cups. Place in the fridge for about a 1/2 hour so the chocolate can harden.
Step Two:
Fill each of the cups with the peanut butter and place back in the fridge for about 15 mins. (it's best to keep these cold while you are working with them).
Step Three:
Coat the top and sides with more milk chocolate. Make sure the entire pretzel is covered.
Step Four:
Sprinkle with cut up peanut butter cups and drizzle with more milk chocolate to ensure they stay put. Then back into the fridge for at least an hour to set up.
Step Five:
Plate up, serve, and eat!
Final Verdict? Hubby loves them, and even though I had a lot of "fridge" time in there, overall didn't take much time or effort to make a few. The kids like these too, so they don't mind too much that we "stole" their left over Halloween candy for it!
Kid Friendly? I am a firm believer of getting the kids into the kitchen as much as possible. Teaching your kids to cook is a valuable skill, so definitely let them help with this!
Tried! And Succeeded!
